WhereWeMet

A map-art studio prototype for composing personal places with customizable layouts and material previews.

WhereWeMet turns a personal place into a piece of map artwork. I designed and prototyped an interactive studio that brings location, layout, text and material choices into a visual preview.

01 / The thinking

Let the artwork be the workspace

The starting point is a place with meaning. From there, the studio brings map composition and print customization together: size, color, text, frame and map-pin choices sit alongside an interactive view of the work.

The design challenge is the connection between a control and its visual consequence. The preview gives those choices a shared context, so the piece can be considered as a composition rather than a list of separate settings.

02 / The thinking

From a digital choice to a physical idea

My work combined independent product and brand direction with AI-assisted implementation, using map rendering and material previews to make the proposed output tangible. Responsive composition was part of making the studio usable on smaller screens.

WhereWeMet remains a prototype. The case demonstrates the customization and preview experience; it does not claim completed orders or verified physical production.
